Day 2

On our 2nd day in Rome, we got up early and met Daniella. She is an art historian and her husband is a Corporal in the Swiss Guard. They live in Vatican City.

She showed us around St. Peter's, and then gave us a behind the scenes walking tour of Vatican City. We even saw where she lives. This is St. Peter's dome behind me.

I had my picture taken with a Swiss Guard! Their job to keep the Pope and The Vatican safe.
Here is a picture of the map of Italy in the Hall of Maps in one of the Vatican's many galleries.

A Gladiator tried to get me!

One of our favorite places in Rome is the Campo dei Fiori. It is a huge flower market.

There was a bead store that Ms. Fecteau would love!
No day is complete without gelato. Thanks for reading......
